The BC curriculum encompasses so much on its website. First of all, it has the curriculum requirements for every subject in every single grade that is taught in BC. Anyone can go look up a grade in a specific subject and look at the big ideas, the learning standards and the content that should be taught to that particular grade. It is the foundation of what should be taught in the classrooms. The website also outlines all of the core competencies and goes into detail about each of their definitions. These competencies should be integrated into the lessons taught to the students and are just an important, if not more important, than the content that the students learn. The BC curriculum also gives detailed information about assessment and specifically provincial assessments. Finally, the curriculum gives an overview of the graduation program for the province.
