Reflection about travel and employment

My employment has helped directed me towards teaching. I have realized throughout my jobs that I love working with others in social situations and jobs where I work by myself, I do not enjoy as much. Being employed has trained me to be responsible, accountable and safe in the work place environment which I will translate into teaching. I like to think that handling a group of 30 dogs is almost like handling a group of 30 children except with differences in appearance. I have been fortunate enough to go on many travels with my family over the years. My oversea trips to South Korea and Italy were extremely eye opening in the way of experiencing different cultures. I was able to immerse myself in a different lifestyle and appreciate how other people live their lives. In South Korea, I was able to go to a local school to experience what life was like for students there. The family I was visiting were both teachers so I was able to gain an understanding of what a South Korean education entails. This allowed me to reflect on my own education and be grateful for some aspects while seeing that other educational practices could be beneficial in our school system as well.
